NCCC to build retail hub

The New City Commercial Corp. (NCCC) is building a one-floor retail hub near Davao City Water District in MacArthur Highway, Matina.

Thea Septann Padua, spokesperson and public relations manager of NCCC, told TIMES that the 8,000-square meter project, which is now being constructed, is targeted to open by the fourth quarter this year.

The project is also about a kilometer away from the company’s mall, which was gutted by fire in December last year.

“The retail hub includes NCCC anchor stores like Supermarket, Department Store, Hardwaremaxx, Breadfactory, and HB1+ pharmacy,” Padua said.

The company also targeted to open its mall in Buhangin next month.

In a news report, the NCCC Mall in Buhangin will generate 1,500 to 2,000 jobs. There would be around 85 tenants, comprising a mixture of high-end and local brands

The project was inaugurated on September 24, 2016.

Meanwhile, the burnt NCCC Mall is currently undergoing demolition which started in May and expected to be done four months after. The company also planned to build a mall on the site. (KMF)
