Nakila receives hole-in-one prizes, Phoenix Pulse Open tees off Manila leg Sept. 21

Butuan-based parbuster Ivan Nakila yesterday received his P1.7 worth of prizes for drilling a rare hole-in-one feat in the recent 3rd Phoenix Pulse Open golf tournament played at the Cebu and Country Club.In simple rites held at the Phoenix Davao office in Lanang, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines Incorporated Senior Vice President for External Affairs Business Development and Security Atty. Raymond Zorilla, Chairman Domingo Uy and Pioneer Insurance’s Richmond Alejo awarded Nakila his key to a brand new Tata Manza sedan worth P600,000 along with one million pesos cash and P100,000 worth of fuel cards.

“Swerte talaga,” said Nakila, a 25-handicapper of the Butuan West Highlands Golf and Country Club. He came along with his wife Daisy and son Shaldan Rey.

Nakila aced the 15th hole of the Cebu and Country Club using his Royal Collection Rescue and a #04 Dunlop ball which made him the biggest hole-in-one winner to date of Phoenix Petroleum Philippines’ 10th year golfing spectacle.

Also present yesterday during the awarding rites were Phoenix Petroleum Corporate Affairs Manager Ben Sur, official Ernie Ortonio and tournament organizer Liloh Evangelista.

Meanwhile, as part of its 10th year of golfing competition, the action shifts to the Manila Golf and Country Club this September 21.

“The tournament will be strictly invitational,” Evangelista said adding that the one-day competition will still follow the Modified Stableford team and individual competition in which winners will be receiving Royal Selanggor Pewter Plates and Phoenix Petroleum fuel cards.

“Champions will also bring home limited edition Phoenix signature golf bags,” she added.

The Phoenix Open golf tournament is a fundraising event of Phoenix Petroleuim Philippines Incorporated for the benefit of the Phoenix Philippine Foundation and its projects on education, health and safety, outreach and other future initiatives.
