Scene City | Mr. and Ms. JIB International 2018

A QUEST for stunning and exceptional JIB students chosen to represent as the Official Ambassador and Ambassadress of the JIB International Schools and help carry out the JIB Schools’ core values: Passion, Respect, Integrity, Dynamism, and Excellence (PRIDE), was held by the Joji Ilagan Career Center Foundation, Inc.This year, Joji Ilagan Career Center Foundation, Inc. held this annual event with a series of activities on Apr. 9 to 12, 2018 which was hosted and organized by the Institute of International Culinary and Hospitality Entrepreneurship (ICHEF) along with its ICHEF Events Management Students, the Bachelor of Science in Culinary Management 4th Year Class and Professional Grand Diploma in Commercial Cookery, Professional Baking and Hospitality Services 2nd Year. These culinary professionals experienced how to become Event Planners and Organizers for this major school event.

Participants were the eight male and eight female pageant winners of the Joji Ilagan College of Business and Tourism, Joji Ilagan International School of Hotel and Tourism Management, General Santos City, Institute of International Culinary and Hospitality Entrepreneurship and Career Institute of Southeast Asia. The male candidates were Christian Job Cabaña and Reymark Dela Cruz, both 3rd Year BS in Tourism Management students of JIB-College of Business and Tourism; Grovert Keith Binobo, Sunthom Senatham Jr., 2nd Year BS-Entrepreneurship student of JIB-Gensan; Christopher Anthony Abella, Dan Lorezo Posadas, Elly John Gamorot, and Noli Ombao. The female candidates were Jester Joan De Dios, Patricia Louisse Marie Ta-asan, Abegail Denoyo, Gracezel Granfon and Jhesiel Legarde, Zyra Mae De Asis and Honey Jane Pale.

The candidates took part in different pre-pageant activities showcasing their poise, beauty, and heart. A photo shoot took place on Apr. 9, 2018 at Claude’s Le Café De Ville with the candidates wearing Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog.

On April 10, the candidates presented their advocacy that they proposed to be implemented across the JIB International Schools in the first semester of school year 2018 to 2019 at the ICHEF’s Conference Room. The panel of judges were Ms. LJ Gacho, Program Manager of SixEleven Global Services and Solutions; Ms. Sally Reyes, Corporate Dean of the JIB International Schools; Mr. Joel Botoy, Corporate Human Resource Director of JIB International Schools; Ms. Cherrie Sagario, Corporate Office of Student Affairs Director of JIB International Schools; and Ms. Marie Antoinette Caña, Corporate Guidance Counselor of JIB International Schools.

The candidates showcased their talents to the JIB community at THE International Management School Sky Atrium. The panel of judges consisted of Mr. Giovanni Rañesis, Tawag ng Tanghalan stint of October 2016; Mr. Jay-ar Olivar, Asia’s Got Talent Season 1 Semi Finalist and Mr. June Karlo Impas, Member of Metro Davao Freelance Dancers.

On April 11, the candidates donned their Official Pageant shirts as they had the Personality Development Seminar with the Personality Development Master and JIB International Schools’ Vice President for Education Development, Ms. Nicole Ilagan Hao Bian.

The main event was on April 12. The candidates introduced themselves to students, faculty and staff, friends and relatives. The panel of judges was composed of Ms. Kaziel Guipitacio, Binibining RDL 2017 and Public Relations Officer of RDL Pharmaceutical Laboratory, Inc.; Ms. Marjorie Ormido, Mutya ng Davao 3rd Runner Up – Pag-asa ng Davao 2017; Mr. Rovic Cuasito, Dentist of Cool Smiles Dental Clinic and TV Host of ABS-CBN’s Kapamilya Mas Winner Ka; and Ms. Elinor Marcelino, a Professional Event Planner, Organizer and Coordinator of El Bonita Events.

The candidates walked with poise and charm in their Festival Attire, each contestant representing a certain Philippine Festival, such as: Ati-Atihan, Dinagyang, Kadayawan, Masskara, Moriones, Pahiyas, Panagbenga, and Sinulog.

The candidates looked trendy in their Summer Attire. They also walked with pride in their School Corporate Uniform and Filipiniana and Barong attire.

Reymark Diaz and Patricia Louisse Marie Ta-asan, were crowned Mr. and Ms. JIB International 2018. Both received 20,000 worth of Educational Voucher.

Completing the entourage were 1st Runners-Up Christian Job Cabaña and Jester Joan De Dios, who received 15,000 worth of Educational Voucher and 2nd Runners-Up Sunthom Senatham Jr. and Gracezel Granfon, who received 10,000 worth of Educational vouchers. The remaining candidates received 5,000 worth of Educational Voucher.
