Motorbike rider dead in vehicular collision

A GASOLINE station worker died on the spot following a vehicular incident in Barangay Sasa, Buhangin District at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 22.

Ryan Daniel A. Alpaz, 34, employee of Phoenix Petroleum and a resident of Plain View Village at Km. 10, Sasa, was driving his Suzuki motorcycle on the outer lane when Lord Jay M. Sunga, 44, resident of Gen. Luna Extension, Poblacion Digos, Davao del Sur, suddenly merged with traffic.

The Fuso Canter truck driven by Sunga hit the motorcycle, causing Alpaz to lose control of the bike.

Alpaz slammed into the tractor prime mover driven by Lawrence G. Garialde, 19, resident of New San Isidro, Buhangin. He fell and was run over by the trailer.

The remains of the victim were brought to the Rivera Funeral Homes while both Garialde and Sunga are now in the custody of Sasa Police Precinct as they await the charge of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide to be filed against them.
