Montaña Kids Summer hoop HCCD, Montaña Pawnshop in finals

HOLY Child College of Davao and Montaña Pawnshop earned its trip to the winner-take-all finals after topping the elimination round of the 2017 Montaña Kids Summer basketball tournament played at the Montaña Gym and Recreation Center.

Holy Child College of Davao of veteran coach Roger Rabago tallied a clean 6-0 win-loss card to finish first after the close of the elimination round of the scheduled weeklong tournament for kids ages 14 years-old and under.

Montana Pawnshop Davao under head coach Dodong Cagampang trails at second with a 5-1 win-loss card which moved them to the finals next to Holy Child. That feat also earned them a finals ticket after which the tournament follows the top-two team advance to the finals format.

The finals is set today, 11:30 a.m. following the battle for third place at 10 a.m. which features Davao City National High School and Ford Academy of the Arts/Quiamco Basketball after both wrap up the elimination round at third and fourth places, respectively

Completing the seven-team roster are Ching Printers of Peter Epe, Montana Gym Kids of Nick Serafica and Mikawa.

Tournament commissioner Edgar Montenegro along with league principal sponsor Armand Quibod will award the winners after the games.

The tournament is an annual grassroots development program for kids held every summer presented by Montana Pawnshop Davao and Edmons Tailoring.
