Man faces case for murder try

A MAN will face trial after the Office of the City Prosecution found probable cause to charge him for attempted murder based on the violent incident in Buhangin last Nov. 27.

Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Shahruddin Roberto O Sencio Jr. charged Rizalino Flores Ceniza based on the evidence and testimonies presented.

Ceniza opted to suspend his right to preliminary investigation and face the charge in court. The charge stemmed from the complaint filed by Emmanuel C. Delos Reyes, who claimed that the respondent, along with certain Norman Ambay, confronted him on Nov. 27.

When Delos Reyes was about to walk away, he was stabbed three times on the back with a screw driver. Ambay ran away and Ceniza tried to stab again but was held down by bystanders. He was arrested by a police officer near the area.

Prosecutor Samuel Atencia, who conducted the investigation, said that suspect is liable as “the attempt to stab the complainant shows intent to kill.”

The prosecutor added that “this preliminary step is definitive of the concept/felony attempted murder since the victim was already unconscious on the ground.”
