Man charged for snatching phone

THE OFFICE of the City Prosecutor recommended the filing of information before the court against a man who allegedly snatched a cellphone along Quezon Boulevard on March 5.

Prosecutor Joy Bernales-Largo has formally charged Bonifer Manulat for theft, a violation under Revised Penal Code.

Complainant Christopher Abellana said he was busy repairing the defective timing belt of his multi-cab when a man suddenly took his cellphone that was placed in the dashboard of the vehicle.

Abellana shouted for help while chasing the escaping suspect.

Responding police officer arrived and later cornered the suspect who was immediately brought to Sta. Ana Police Precinct.

In a March 10 resolution approved by Maria Gemma Dabbay-Tambis, the respondent is liable to the case as probable cause is present in the case.
