Man caught at checkpoint with P94-K worth of weed

A 27-year-old man who tried to sneak marijuana into the city was apprehended by personnel of Task Force Davao and the Bunawan Police Precinct at the checkpoint in Sitio Licanan, Barangay Lasang, Bunawan District at 9:56 p.m. on Tuesday.

Col. Nolasco Mempin, the commander of the Task Force Davao, identified him to TIMES as Maffo James Fabian Adao, single and a resident of Purok 8, Osmeña, Compostela Valley.

Intercepted from his possession were two bundles of dried marijuana leaves with a total weight of 790 grams and a street value of P94,800. The suspect was on board a public utility vehicle from Compostela Valley.

The report from the Task Group Lawin, led by Pfc. Jaypee E. Ado claimed that the Adao was “acting suspiciously” when he presented himself for inspection. CAA II Emie Romano then inspected his bags. They then found the contraband inside.

The suspect and the drugs were turned over to PO2 Dovie Annil Fantonial of the Bunawan Police Precinct for the filing of the case.
