Man burns arm in fire; damage set at P3.7-M

A MAN sustained burns following another fire that razed six houses in Purok 24-B, Times Beach Barangay 76-A, Bucana around 3:40 a.m. yesterday.

SFO4 Ramil Gillado, investigator at the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) XI, yesterday said that the origin of the fire was traced to the second floor of the house of Larry Camporedondo.

There were four structures totally razed and two partially damaged with an estimated cost of P 3.7 million.

Gillado said they are still conducting investigation to determine the cause of fire.

The firefighters declared a fire-out around 6:40 a.m. of the same day.

He said Camporedondo suffered first-degree burns on his right arm. “He wasn’t trapped but he got burned during the incident,” he added.

One Tuesday, 71-year-old Rodolfo Hilado was killed during a four-hour fire that gobbled around 100 houses in Pag-asa, Bankerohan, Barangay 5-A.

Supt. Honee Alagano, city fire marshal of the Bureau of the Fire and Protection (BFP) XI, said the fire started around 11:40 a.m., declared under control by 1:35 p.m. and was totally declared fire out by 4:40 pm.

At least 180 families in Purok 5 were affected by the fire that hit rows of houses made of light materials. The fire reportedly cost P500,000 in damage.
