LTFRB suspends Holy Trinity buses

THE LAND Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has issued a suspension order against the operator of the passenger bus involved in the Diversion Road crash that injured 38 on Sunday.

The operation of the two remaining buses of Holy Trinity Bus Lines was suspended for 30 days starting Monday.

Four of the 38 injured victims are still at the surgery ward of the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC).

Still in the hospital are bus passengers Roneline Eguia, 24, of Barangay Quezon in Panabo City, Davao del Norte; Alma dela Cerna, 45, of Malagamot, Barangay Panacan, Bunawan District; and Anastacio Doremon, 37, of SIR-Matina, Barangay 76-A, and bus driver Diosdado Sabay, 48, of Montevista in Compostela Valley.

The bus, bound for the city overland terminal in Ecoland coming from Tagum City, Davao del Norte, reportedly had a mechanical problem while travelling along C.P. Garcia Highway in Brgy. Buhangin Proper in Buhangin District.

It hit four vehicles before ramming a hardware store along the highway.

A customer of Davao TLCO Hardware was also injured in the incident.
