Lambat seizes 38 motorcycles

THIRTY-EIGHT motorcycles were impounded by authorities during the latest Oplan Lambat Bitag Sasakyan conducted in various streets in the city.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Sr. Supt. Alexander Tagum said the operation also resulted in the confiscation of 231 driver’s licenses and the issuance of 52 citation tickets for various traffic violations.

Tagum told TIMES that the operation is intended to clear the city streets of unregistered and carnapped vehicles.

The operation, which started at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, was conducted in the areas covered by the following police precincts: Sta. Ana, San Pedro, Talomo, Sasa, Buhangin, Bunawan, Toril, Tugbok, and Calinan.

Joining the DCPO in the operation were various security and law enforcement units such as Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulayory Board (LTFRB), City Transport and Traffic Management Office (CTTMO) and Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RFMB).

All the impounded vehicles were endorsed to the Traffic Group compound for proper disposition.
