Lady charged with extortion

THE OFFICE of the City Prosecutor has indicted a woman for allegedly extorting money from a businessman at Marfori Heights, Barangay 9-A.

Senior Assistant City Prosecutor Shahruddin Roberto Sencio Jr. charged Charlene Ramiro for extortion and light threats.

Prosecutor Maria Estrella G. Dulla-Valles, who conducted the investigation, said Ramiro was liable based on the evidence that showed the suspect allegedly demanding money from the common-law-husband of the complainant, Lee Tom Dondoy.

Ramiro was arrested during an entrapment operation.

Based on the complaint, when Dondoy found out that her common-law-husband was sending money to Ramiro for 20 years following the text messages she found in his cellular phone. She asked the respondent to stop.

However, Dondoy was surprised when she again found out that the accused was again texting her common-law-husband. When she talked to the respondent why she was doing it again, Ramiro said that she will stop if Dondoy will give her P10,000.
