Laborer who is raping daughter, 8, arrested

A 36-year-old laborer is facing criminal complaint before the City Prosecution Office after he sexually abused his 8-year-old daughter.

The respondent, name withheld to protect the victim, is sued for violation of Republic Act 8353, the Anti-Rape Law in relation to RA 7610 (Child Abuse).

He is now temporarily held at Sta. Ana Police Precinct while his case is being handled by Prosecutor Rogieliza D. Verallo.

The victim in her complaint claimed that she was sexually abused by her father at around 5 p.m. on Aug. 23 inside their residence in Quezon Boulevard.

She also claimed that she was raped by her father many times, especially when he’s drunk. But she never told anybody about the abuse because she was afraid that her father would hurt her.

The complaint was filed by Ronar Lisa, 45-year-old, an official of Brgy. 23-C.

“On August 22, 2016 at around 11:00 p.m., I received information from a concerned citizen that there was an alleged incest rape incident at our barangay perpetrated by the victim’s biological father. Thus, I immediately ask assistance [from] my co-barangay workers to identify the victim and suspect and to look for possible witnesses and evidences,” the affidavit of Lisa read.

The suspect was arrested by personnel of the Sta. Ana Police Precinct.
