Kadayawan vies for best festival award

The city tourism officer announced that the Kadayawan, celebrated on Aug. 10-19 this year, is set to compete for the best festival event nationwide.

The competition is sponsored by Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines.

“It is our first time to send in an entry to this event,” said Tecson.

She also added that they already received confirmation about being one of
the finalists. Tecson added that they are scheduled to fly to Manila for
an interview.

“They want to know the salient points of the Kadayawan,” she said.

Tecson added that they are in a very tight race especially that other competitors are some key festivals in the country, including Maskara, Dinagyang, and Sinulog festivals. “We are very happy and we are very (eager) to push through with the competition because we want this for our city,” she said.
