Scene City | JIB Senior High’s Pioneering Graduates

AS PART of the Philippines’ transition to the K to 12 program of the Department of Education, JIB has faced the challenge to produce Senior High School graduates who are not only proficient in academics, but also competent in technical and vocational skills, living up to JIB’s slogan, “Truly international and truly global.”The pioneering batch of Senior High School students of the Joji Ilagan College of Business and Tourism (JIB-CBT) and the Institute of International Culinary and Hospitality Entrepreneurship (ICHEF) successfully finished their journey on their 1st Commencement Exercises held on April 15, 2018 at THE-IMS Sky Atrium, De Jesus St., Davao City.

The number of graduating students from JIB-CBT were: 23 from the Culinary and Patisserie Entrepreneurship track; eight from the Hotel and Restaurant Entrepreneurship track; 24 from the Travel and Tourism Entrepreneurship track, and; two from the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) track, studying welding courses in the Career Institute of Southeast Asia (CAISA), part of the JIB International Schools. There were 21 graduates from ICHEF, the Culinary, Patisserie, and Baking Entrepreneurship track.

Topping the graduating class was Travel and Tourism Entrepreneurship track student Mitzirika B. Ito, who, in her valedictory speech, said that she was grateful that she has gained experience more than her expectations.

All JIB-CBT and ICHEF graduates are certified competent with their Technical-Vocational-Livelihood skills with national certification from the Technical Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

With JIB’s world-class education, they are equipped with real-life skills that enable them to be competitive. Indeed, they are living proof on how the school is truly international and truly global in its field.
