Jeepney, trike drivers arrested in drug busts

A JEEPNEY driver was arrested by members of the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) of  the Buhangin police, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI, in Purok 5, Lower Cabantian, Buhangin District around 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Sr.  Supt.  Alexander Tagum, Davao City Police Office director, identified the suspect as Emuel P. Orguelles, 24, resident of the area. He reportedly handed over a sachet of shabu to an undercover police officer for P1,000.

Recovered from his possession were 12 sachets of shabu. The suspect reportedly showed up at the Buhangin precinct on Jul. 28, 2016 to clear his name in the drug watch list.

The suspect is now under the custody of the police precinct pending the filing of appropriate case against him in court.

Also on Saturday, the drug enforcement team of the Toril Police Precinct, led by Chief Insp.  Jerome de Guzman, arrested tricycle driver Mark Anthony J. Villarosa, 22, resident of Barangay Lubogan during a buy-bust operation.

He reportedly sold P500-worth of shabu to the poseur-buyer.

Recovered from his possession were one unit of My Phone cell phone and the marked money.

A case for violation of Sec. 5 of R.A 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) is being prepared against the suspect.
