Guard hurt in shooting

A security guard of the DOLE company was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen in Sitio Banarao, Talandang, Tugbok District around 12 noon yesterday.

Lt. Col. Oscar Partuza, the commander of 3rd Infantry Battalion, told TIMES yesterday that two personnel of DOLE working on top of a boom spray truck were fired upon by the suspects.

Partuza said the victims were brought to the nearby hospital for treatment.

Members of the Scout Platoon and intelligence operatives, along with the Tugbok police, were sent to the area to confirm the report.

“He is now in good condition, he (guard) sustained one gunshot wound on his body,” Partuza said.

Troops are conducting pursuit operations for the possible apprehension of the perpetrators.
