Global walk to draw 10K participants

An Estimated of 10,000 participants across the globe will join the Answering the Cry of the Poor (Ancop) Global Walk 2018.

Ben Mejorada, CFC Social Ministry and Ancop program head, said on Monday that there will be 5,000 to 7,000 participants in the Philippines, and around 1,000 in Davao City. In contrast, there were only 2,000 participants in 2015.
Ancop Global Walk is a simultaneous walk with 30 participating countries. The event will start at Matina Town Square this coming Sept. 16, 2018 from 4:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
Registration fee is P200 pesos with a singlet.
“This is a nonprofit activity for our scholars. It is a one nation walking for education, “says Mejorada.
The activity aims to support underprivileged students. At present, Davao has over a hundred scholars in elementary, secondary, and college.
Among the scholars, 27 have already graduated from college. (By Regina Mae Ronquillo)
