A BUSINESSMAN and with his wife were found dead inside their vehicle at Km. 78, Barangay Dolo, Bansalan in Davao del Sur at 1 p.m. on Monday.

Chief Insp. Andrea dela Cerna, spokesperson of Police Regional Office XI, identified the victims as 55-year-old Lino Nicholas Valderrama Borromeo, a businessman, and Maricel Fajardo Borromeo, both residents of Andrade Subdivision in San Isidro, General Santos City. The victims both bore multiple stab wounds on the body.

A concerned citizen reported to the police that a colored Gray Toyota Hilux, with plate no. MFN 665, was abandoned along the National Highway of Km 78 facing Cotabato direction.

Police Insp. Daisy Angga, the town officer-in-charge, said they are looking into the possibility that robbery hold-up is the motive of the killing.

“In our initial investigation, robbery could be the motive since (the) cellular phones and jewelries (were missing) and there was no money left on their wallet,” Angga said.

Angga said they are still investigating if the victims were killed in Bansalan or they were just abandoned in the area.

“Kasi wala pa ang autopsy report ng Scene of the Crime Operatives (The autopsy report of Scene of the Crime Operatives is yet to be submitted),” she added.

Based on the account of their daughter, the victims owned a hardware and small lending business in General Santos City.
