PEOPLE’S Park promenaders have been cleverly nudged to visit the Pasalubong Center along Palma Gil Street by making the souvenir shop as the exit point instead of the usual gate near the Durian Dome.

SOME of the Davao souvenirs at the shop

My favorite entrepreneur friends, one scented candle maker and one local reggae star, are no longer there but the goods there are still interesting. There used to be a fruit store near the façade. The absence of durian and pomelo may either be due to poor sales or lack of supply.

Die hard fans of the Philippine President can still find Duterte t-shirts inside the Pasalubong Center – along with “Life Is Here” and “I Love Davao” designs. Those who are not bothered by high levels of blood sugar would also be delighted to find sweet stuff.

Fashion accessories for the trendy will be entertained by the hodgepodge of items to choose from at the souvenir shop.

Whether one goes first into People’s Park or directly go to the Pasalubong Center entrance at Palma Gil Street, the place is a must-see for tourists.
