FREEZE| Meet the Artists of GUHIT PINAS DAVAO CHAPTER (Part Two of Three)

GUHIT PINAS Davao Chapter (GPD) is a big group of local artists that aims to keep developing the skills of its members and also promotes community development by teaching children how to draw. Drawing is the foundation of painting, graphic design, and computer animation – a field where many Filipinos excel worldwide.

On May 9 and 10, 2015, a few GDP artists will come together to teach in the FREE Summer Art Workshop for Kids at Tatang’s Halo-Halo, CJ Bldg., SM Ecowest Drive, Ecoland, Matina, Davao City. There are 50 slots available with FREE art materials provided by 90.7 Love Radio and Boatman Outdoor Apparel. Ma-an’s Bakeshop is donating snacks for the participants and Tatang’s Halo-Halo’s generosity to offer its place as the workshop venue for free gets even cooler with free halo-halo for the children.

Led by GPD President Rey Compuesto Sugarol and Ford Academy of the Arts alumnus Perry C. Liquigan, the free summer art workshop for kids project is now on its third year. The previous events were held at Rizal Park. While its main focus is to teach street children, those who are not homeless are also welcome to join. Parents may register their kids through a private message in the Guhit Pinas Davao Facebook page.

Here’s the second batch of pictures of GPD artists taken at Magsaysay Park last April 18, 2015.
