With the advent of air-conditioned malls, public parks have not been attracting many visitors like they used to in the past. Perhaps a major makeover of Magsaysay Park would bring in more people in the future. After all, the ocean view there remains soothing to the eyes – especially at daybreak. For now, it looks like a sad place that only early morning joggers love.

Every now and then, Magsaysay Park gets attention when it becomes a venue for local young artists to strut their stuff. During the recent Kadayawan festival, muralists showed their works in the park. The large paintings are still on display.
