“In elementary, when I get bored with a certain subject or school activity – like during class singing of children’s rhymes – I would illustrate the rhymes with animals and children. Thursdays and Fridays were my favorite days in school because of the art sessions and I got top marks in art projects and assignments,” recalls Kenneth.

In high school, he was intimidated to join the school’s Visual Artist Group since he thought that the club was solely for the “good ones.” Instead he joined the brass band. His foray in music rewarded him with new skills. Kenneth learned to play the clarinet, flute, tenor saxophone, and alto saxophone too. Alone he continued to explore visual arts by drawing landscapes and painting conceptual art using oil and pastel.

Earning more confidence in third year college, he stated joining school art contests where he got a taste of both victory and defeat. He embraced the challenge to improve his talent in portraiture by focusing on the discipline and by attending an art enhancement workshop.

Although he does not consider himself as a leader, Kenneth earned two youth leadership awards for volunteerism in community projects.

He considers being recognized by Anne Curtis for his fan art as one of his greatest achievements in art. The actress personally signed his works during her recent mall visit in Tagum City. Kenneth is also proud of becoming a member of PINTAGUM visual artists group that inspires young artists to become good citizens.
