As an FDW (Foreign Domestic Worker), Juliet only had two days off in a month to pursue her passion for fashion. Thanks to YouTube for serving as her guide to learn new ideas and techniques on how to handle the makeup brush. Sheer grit helped her make a breakthrough to become one of the most sought after makeup artists and body painters in Singapore.

Having met discrimination from somebody in the modeling industry even gave her another reason to persevere and gained more self-confidence along the way.

Juliet got her huge break when a certain Missy Villanueva, Manager of Singapore-based Manila Production, agreed to do collaborative work with photographer Cita Black for a fun shoot. Juliet’s image enhancement job was featured in Star Studio Magazine, Pinoy Star Magazine, and Photoshop Elements 15 (by author Ted Patova) with the Polychrome concept.

Juliet Salinas has a gift to execute designs in freestyle method without any pre-conceived patterns – similar to the oido approach in playing music.

In 2016, her work contract in Singapore expired. She decided to come back home in the Philippines for good. She had doubts if she could still continue doing her works in body art. Her desire proved stronger than her doubts as she eventually found people, including a certain Tin Suarez, who helped her further enjoy a career in fashion.

“Poverty is not a hindrance to success. We just need to find the courage to discover our abilities within,” said Juliet Salinas.

She is an inspiration to those who want to rise above their not-so-ideal situations.
