Titus John (TJ) left his comfort zone in Cagayan de Oro and pitched his songs to recording companies long before he became an endorser of several products. He learned how to support himself there while waiting for the big break that he deserved in the music world. He went through hungry times that only strengthened his resolve to keep moving.

The humble TJ was not too proud to ask for help. “But it was no more than 500 pesos,” Tito said. The rare cry for assistance must have come while TJ was waiting to get paid for some services – mostly event hosting gigs in Manila.

The son of a former DXUM AM and DXWT FM DJ in Davao City (now with DXWZ FM Cagayan de Oro City) is romantically linked with singer KZ Tandingan. I asked Tito if it was just a PR stunt. He said it was for real.
