Four arrested by PDEA XI in different buy-busts ops

A JAPANESE national, an alleged drug pusher on bail, sidewalk vendor and another drug suspect were arrested in separate buy-busts conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI in Barangay Catalunan Pequeno, Talomo District, Panabo City and Compostela Valley over the weekend.

Nephi Noli Dimaandal, spokesperson of PDEA XI, said one of the entrapment operations was conducted on Saturday, Nov. 12 at around 7 a.m. at Km. 12, Purok 9, Cawacawa, Catalunan Pequeño, which resulted to the arrest of Jemuel Nebrano Endo, 49, an ex-policeman and a resident of the said place.

Endo was arrested for distribution of one small sachet of shabu.

Another four medium pack of suspected shabu placed in the empty pack of 3 in 1 coffee weighing about 30 grams with a street value of P 360,000.00; a   unit .45 caliber pistol with live ammunition and one fragmentation grenade were also recovered during the anti-drug operation.

Endo is now detained at the detention facility of PDEA XI while a case for violation of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 ( Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002); Republic Act 9516 and Republic Act 10591 is being prepared against him.

Meanwhile, after several weeks of casing and surveillance, a recidivist drug perpetrator operating in Monkayo, Compostela Valley was again arrested in a buy-bust on Nov. 11, around 7:10 p.m. at Purok 2D, Habitat, Monkayo.

Agents from Compostela Valley Province Provincial Drug Enforcement Office, with the assistance of Monkayo Municipal Police Station, nabbed Albert Cervantes Dalana, 40, a resident of the said place and currently on bail for a drug charge.

Dalana was arrested by the agents who acted as poseur-buyer after selling one sachet of suspected shabu worth P500. One sachet of suspected shabu and P500 marked money were also recovered during the buy-bust operation.

He was already arrested in April this year for violation of R.A. 9165 but posted bail.

Earlier on the same day, a man was arrested for drugs and a minor rescued by the agents of Davao del Norte Provincial and Davao Occidental Provincial Drug Enforcement Office in a buy-bust at Km. 31, Purok Caimito, Barangay Gredu, Panabo City, Davao del Norte around 5:10 p.m.

Kean Arniel Caballero, 22 ,resident of Crystal Plain subdivision, Barangay Gredu and the minor were arrested after allegedly selling one sachet of suspected shabu worth P 1,000 to an agent who acted as poseur buyer.

Another one sachet of suspected shabu and the P1,000 cash were also recovered from their possession. The Honda 125 XRM allegedly used in their illegal drug activities was also confiscated.

Caballero is now detained at the PDEA XI detention facility while the rescued minor was turned over to Quick Response Team for Children’s Concern for discernment.

On the other hand, a sidewalk vendor was nabbed for selling illegal drugs to the agents of Compostela Valley Province Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit I, with the assistance of Nabunturan Municipal Police Station and Compostela Valley Province Police Office Intelligence Division, in an operation conducted on Nov. 11 at around 4:15 p.m. at Purok 5, Barangay Poblacion, Nabunturan.

The suspect was identified as Pangalian Lima Didato, 44, married.

Didato was arrested after selling P500 worth of suspected shabu to an agent who acted as poseur buyer. Another two small sachets of suspected shabu with a street value of P 2,000 were recovered from his possession.

The suspects are now detained at PDEA XI detention facility for the filing of appropriate cases for violation of Sec. 5 and Sec. 11, Art. II of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

“These only show that the PDEA XI and the community are one in the fight against illegal drugs,” Dimaandal said.
