Flight of the Eagles fun ride registration on

THE FLIGHT of the Eagles is now open for registration for Davao’s annual fun ride, promoting healthy lifestyle among citizens and raising fun for the promotion of the city’s watershed.

Speaking on yesterday’s press conference held at City Engineers Office conference room, Chinkee Golle, the executive director of IDIS Philippines, said the funds generated from the event will support the rehabilitation of Panigan-Tamugan, Talomo-Lipadas and Malagos watersheds as well as the sites of the Davao city water district adopt-A-site project.

With the theme “Happy Ride for the Environment : Promoting bike rides for a healthier environment they encouraged the Dabawenyos to strap your helmets, put on your biking outfits and get ready to save the environment, one pedal at a time for the 14th Flight of the Eagles set on November 12.

Golle said the event features the 15-kilometer Kalayaan route within the city road at 6 a.m. and the 40- kilometer ag-asa symbolic solidarity fun ride to the Malagos watershed at 7 a.m. Both routes will start at People’s park.

“Since then the flight of the eagles biking event has been instrumental in promoting green initiative,” she added.

Meanwhile in a press statement, Chair on city council committee on environment and Natural resources, Councilor Marissa Abella, said the event aims to continue the initiative started by the late Councilor Leo Avila III.

They are expecting at least 200 to 300 participants that will be joining the biking event.

The registration fee is P400 inclusive of a jersey, race plate, raffle ticket, and snacks. The registration is open until November 4 at the SIKAD office 41, Burgos corner N. Torres Street Barrio Obrero.

The registration forms are available at the Office of Councilor Abella at the Sangguniang Panglungsod and may be downloaded from Flight of the eagles fb page.

The Flight of the Eagles is organized by the Office of Councilor Abella, SIKAD Davao, Cycle for Life, watershed management youth council, DCWD and interface development interventions, Inc.
