Fire hits DLPC

Flame affects company’s call center, incident to slow down services
A FIRE yesterday hit the Davao Light & Power Company, Inc. at C. Bangoy Sr. Street (formerly Ponciano Reyes) at around 9 a.m.

The fire, lasting for over an hour, hit the company’s data center at its administration office.

No injuries were reported.

DCLP services are expected to be hampered following the incident.

A statement from DLPC said the fire started around 9 am.

DLPC personnel immediately responded to the situation and advised the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Davao City 911. Firefighters and rescuers were immediately dispatched.

The BFP declared the fire out at around 10:30 am.

Concerned government agencies are currently conducting an investigation.

According to Rodger Velasco, DLPC’s EVP & COO, service temporarily down is the company’s Call Center (229-3572). However, its Emergency Service continues.

Customer Services at the SM Malls and Panabo Branch such as bill payments, complaints, and applications are temporarily being processed manually. Hence, a significant slow down in these services are expected.

“While we are working on restoring our services swiftly, please use our official Facebook page and Twitter account to contact us,” said Velasco.

“We deeply apologize to our customers for any inconvenience the incident may cause them,” Velasco added.
