Fire gobbles six rooms of Baguio public school

The Bureau of Fire Protection is looking at electrical short circuit as the cause of the fire that hit Baguio Central Elementary School in Baguio District around 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Sr. Insp. Merlito Tubog, commander of Baguio Police Precinct, told TIMES yesterday that his personnel immediately responded to the scene. They also called up Central 911 for assistance.

The Bureau of Fire Protection in Calinan arrived some 30 minutes later followed by Central 911 firefighters who arrived at the scene at around 3:20 p.m.

Six classrooms of Grade 5 and 6 students were razed to the ground

The BFP declared a fire-out around 3:30 p.m. The estimated cost of damage was estimated to reach P100,000.
