Felonia’s arraignment postponed anew

THE REGIONAL Trial Court has postponed again the arraignment of Sr. Supt. Leonardo Felonia after he asked the court to reset it pending the resolution of his motion to discharge the case.

RTC Branch 16 Judge Emmanuel Carpio signed the order to postpone the arraignment of Felonia Wednesday even as he has yet to schedule it again.

Felonia, former director of the Regional Intelligence Unit and accused in the killing of Cebu-based businessman Richard Lim King in June last year, has been detained at the Davao City Police Office after the National Bureau of Investigation declined to detain him because he is considered as high risk.

There were unconfirmed reports that he had received death threats after the court ruled to issue a warrant of arrest against him.

He has also asked the Supreme Court to order the transfer of the case against to a court in Manila supposedly because of the threats he was receiving.

The self-confessed gunman, Paul Dave Molina Labang, and his supposed accomplices, brothers Rommel and Rodel dela Cerna, implicated Felonia into the crime by tagging him as the one who hired them in killing King, who was shot inside his office in the city.
