Family Matters | Who can find a woman ahead of her time?

IMAGINE this world without a woman. This writer is one among them, but I am certain God had a purpose why He created women. If God is wise, then His reason for a woman to exist must be plausible and beyond doubt. It is certain that many, especially those who have experienced the value of being with a woman of substance could guarantee beyond reasonable doubt that indeed God is wise. However, a woman chooses to be foolish when she does not strive to be wise. Certainly, this is not only true for a woman but to a man as well. The root for them being unwise emanates from the lack of fear for God.

Remember the song, “She’s Always a Woman to Me” by Billy Joel?

“She can kill with a smile, she can wound with her eyes.

And she can ruin your faith with her casual lies.

And she only reveals what she wants you to see.

She hides like a child, but she’s always a woman to me.

She can lead you to love, she can take you or leave you.

She can ask for the truth but she’ll never believe.

And she’ll take what you’ll give her as long as it’s free.

Yeah, she steals like a thief, but she’s always a woman to me.

Oooh, she takes care of herself.

She can wait if she wants, she’s ahead of her time.

Oooooh, and she never gives out, and she never gives in,

she just changes her mind.”

This sounds with a good beat, melody, cute and very innocent, yet spoiled and alarming. The remaining generation of women should not allow our young girls to believe that they get what they want and spin the world the way they want. Then, we see later because of the choices she makes out from the depravity of wiser women to teach her the outcome of her home the lack of discipline and orderliness.

“The wise woman builds her house

But the foolish pulls it down with her hands.” (Prov. 14:1 NKJ)

It is like a rottenness in the bones of a man to have a foolish wife. A foolish wife doesn’t only appear in dusters and unmade hair. She too can be in the corporate ladder and in an impeccable suit as well. Two things are common: they love to engage in battles and like a termite, eating away the foundation of her home. If you read this and quickly say that “it is not only me, but my husband does these things, too.” Then, this is what I am trying to drive at. True, after sometime of bliss in marriage, we wake up to the realities of the small nitty gritty imperfections of each other. Then, we try to change the other, not knowing that it is God’s job to change your mate, and all that we do is wait.

But what is a wise woman like? Where can a man find her? If a man is wise, he must seek one not in parties, in drinking bars and in places where she is almost naked as when she was born. No, definitely not. He must seek and find her not in loud laughters and questionable companies. She actually must be found in the heart of quietness, clothed in dignity and faith in her awesome God.

“A virtuous and worthy wife, earnest and strong in character, is a crowning joy to her husband, but she who makes ashamed is as rottenness in his bones” (Prov. 12:4 AMP).

But, she who is wise with dignity, faith and fears God is ahead of her time.
