The much-anticipated Escandor Cup 2018 basketball tournament tips off in grand rites this Friday, February 16 at the Davao City Recreation Center (Almendras gym).
Some 20 school-based squads are to see action in the tournament sanctioned by the SBP-XI chapter. No less than SBP-XI director and Presidential Assistant on Sports Glen Y. Escandor will head the dignitaries to be joined by Atty. Mans Carpio and SBP regional operations head Ronnel Leuterio.
Timed to tip off by 9 a.m. this year’s cast will be headed by Ateneo de Davao University, Agro Industrial Foundation, EMAR Learning Center, Holy Cross College of Sasa, Rizal Memorial Colleges, Philippine Women’s College, Ford Academy of the Arts, Bernardo Carpio National High School, Sakya, Jose Maria Colleges, Davao City National High School, San Pedro College, St. Mary’s School of Tagum, Davao Jones Academy, Daniel R. Aguinaldo National High, Holy Child College of Davao, Nikkei Jin Kai and Cor Jesu College of Tagum.
Teams will follow the bracket format elimination round from which the top two teams per bracket moving on to the quarterfinal round. Winners in the quarterfinals will proceed to the top four semifinal round with the top to squads entering the winner-take-all finals.
