Duterte clarifies ads issues

MAYOR Rodrigo Duterte has dismissed the criticism hurled against him as a result of a video circulating on the Internet which showed his prowess in running the city.

Admitting that the video was among the campaign material during the 2013 election, Duterte said that he is not recycling it as he is not running for a national position in the election next year.

The 34-second video showed the mayor speaking on how he has been managing the city.

Kailangan lang ng tapang at malasakit,” the mayor said in the video which was purportedly upload to the Facebook page of a group of overseas Filipino workers.

On the radio advertisements airing in the cities of Cebu, Cagayan de Oro and Tacloban, Duterte said it was intended to counter the accusation that he was a killer.

“Aron dili ko madaot sa mga tao,” he said, adding the advertisements were also meant to differentiate the use of words common to both Tagalog and Bisaya.
