Drug/theft suspect killed in bust

ALLEGED drug and theft suspect was killed in a shootout with agents of San Pedro Police Precinct in Bankerohan, Barangay 5-A around 1:10 a.m. yesterday.

Insp Maria Teresita Gaspan, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) spokesperson, identified the suspect as Jay Anthony Macabi Romano alias Toning.

operation against Romano is also in line with the Operation R.A.T. Tugis, the DCPO’s drive against robbers, thieves, and burglars in the city.

from robbery, Romano was also tagged in drug pushing.

operatives conducted a buy-bust operation against Romano. The trade point was at Barayco 2 in Bankerohan at 1 a.m.

from the crime scene were a .22 caliber revolver, without serial number, loaded with five live ammunitions and two fired cartridge; one folded newspaper containing suspected marijuana dried leaves with fruiting tops and the P100 marked money.

was linked to theft suspect Jed Rosales Salonga, 19, who was earlier arrested in Bankerohan.
