Drug suspect slain in shootout

AN ALLEGED drug dealer was killed in a shootout with elements of San Pedro Police Precinct during a buy-bust operation near D’Morvie suites along Claro M. Recto Street at 7:45 p.m. on Monday.

Chief Insp. Ronald Lim Lao, commander of the precinct, identified the suspect only as alias Alex who allegeldy sold a sachet of shabu to police undercover for P500.

Upon sensing that he was dealing with an operative, he reportedly drew his gun and fired towards the operatives who were forced to return fire.

Scene of the Crime Operatives recovered a .38 caliber revolver with one cartridge and four live ammunitions from the victim. They also found one big sachet of shabu worth P45,000 and drug papahernalia from him.

Lao said the suspect is a notorious drug pusher in the area.

Prior to the operation, a 24-year-old lady was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted at Purok 7, Bankerohan in Brgy. 5-A at 5:21 p.m.

Police arrested Rinabell Solis Delfino, resident of Brgy. 74-A in Matina Gravahan. Seized from her were sachets of shabu worth P12,000 and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect is now detained in San Pedro Police Precinct for filing of appropriate charge in violation of RA 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
