Drug peddler arrested in bust face charges

A 26-YEAR old suspected drug peddler is facing charges before the City Prosecution Office after he was arrested in a buy bust operation at Matina Aplaya, Times Beach in Ecoland, Tuesday morning.

Oliver Sotto Francisco of Switch Street, Alpha Homes Phase 2, Matina Aplaya is sued for Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002) Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act of 2013) and Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).

Francisco is now detained at Talomo Police while his case is being resolved by Prosecutor Victoriano Bello Jr.

Based on police report, the buy bust operation was launched at 11:30 a.m. He was arrested after he received the marked money from a cop who acted as a poseur buyer.

Seized from his possession were seven plastic sachets containing shabu, drug paraphernalia, .38 revolver loaded with six bullets, a holster, two fragmentation grenade MK1, a cellular phone, a black bag, and the P500 marked money.

The recovered items were also brought to Talomo Police Precinct which will be later used as evidence against him.

Meanwhile, Leo Julius Monterola, a family driver, was also charged for violation of RA 9165 following his arrest in a buy bust operation on Tuesday at San Pedro area.

Monterola is now detained at San Pedro Police while Prosecutor Fe Magdagasang is resolving his case.
