Drug den busted

FIVE family members, all tagged as high value targets, were arrested by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) XI in a raid conducted in an alleged drug den in Purok 2, Mabini-Boulevard, Barangay 31-D, Poblacion District around 7 p.m. Thursday.

PDEA regional director Antonio Rivera identified the suspects as Lucio Unggay alias Osyot, Arnel Unggay alias Aying, Belinda Unggay alias Ling-ling, Rosalinda Unggay alias Rosa and December Cortez alias Allein.

Rivera said the suspects are considered as high value targets because they maintain a drug den.

Seized during the operation was around 25 grams of shabu worth P125,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.

The operation was conducted by the various enforcement units of the PDEA in the region, including the Airport Interdiction Unit (AIU) and the Seaport Interdiction unit (SIU).

The operatives implemented the search warrant issued by Judge Evalyn Arellano-Morales of Regional Trial Court 11, Branch 17 against Lucio Unggay.

The suspects are now detained at the PDEA regional office pending the filing of charges for violation of Sections 6, 7, 11, 12 and 15 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
