Driver who mauled female co-worker sued by police

POLICE HAVE filed on Monday a case against a man who allegedly mauled his co-worker inside Volga oil company at Km. 14, Malopya, Malagamot, Panacan on Saturday.

The mauling incident was caught on CCTV and uploaded on Facebook, which went viral.

Chief Insp. Emerson Pugong, the chief of Sasa Police Precinct, told TIMES yesterday that a physical injury case was filed around 3 p.m. on Monday at the City Prosecutor’s Office through summary inquest proceedings against Ryan Rebucas Ma, 36, resident of the area.

The complainant was his co-worker, Jessa Mae Mainit Canete, 20, resident of Purok 25, Upper Malagamot.

According to the report, Canete was working when he was asked by his co-worker why his brother was absent from the factory. The suspect arrived and admonished the suspect for talking at work.

“It resulted to a heated argument then the suspect mauled her,” Pugong said.

She filed a complaint at the Sasa Police Precinct. The suspect was later arrested inside his house and detained in the jail facility. The victim’s brother, Jason, reportedly punched Ma but hit the suspect’s wife instead.

Leah Pardillo also filed serious physical injury against Jason Canete.
