DOT XI counts on private sector support for BHAF

THE DEPARTMENT of Tourism (DOT) XI is counting on the support of the private sector to make the department’s Bring Home A Friend (BHAF) campaign a success.

Pearl Farm Resort in Samal Island is one of the major sponsors of said campaign. One of the prizes of the BHAF raffle will be a stay in the resort.

“When they were approached by the team from DOT, they immediately offered their resort for BHAF campaign,” DOT-XI regional director Robbie Alabado said.

He also noted that aside from businesses, DOT-XI encourages the citizens to help promote the country to their friends, families or relatives living abroad.

“The DOT here in our region will be asking our fellow citizens to invite their friends in Facebook, co-workers abroad, and even their relatives to come home for Christmas, for Kadayawan and for all of the events that we will have in the region. This is the essence of this program.”

BHAF campaign is a tourism program aimed to highlight the warmth and friendliness of local and global Filipinos as tourism ambassadors, inviting their friends overseas to visit the country.

Raffle prizes such as a condominium unit, a brand-new car and a shopping spree at Duty Free Philippines awaits lucky winners; while resort accommodations in Palawan, Cebu and Davao will also be raffled to invitees. The program runs from Oct. 18, 2017 to April 18, 2018.

The BHAF campaign was launched in Davao on Nov. 15, 2017. (PIA)
