DOLE XI to conduct Labor Day ‘Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan’

WITH the upcoming Labor Day celebration, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI will conduct the region’s first “Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan” (TNK) Job and Business Fairs on May 1-2.

The event, with the theme “Matatag na Kabuhayan at Trabaho Tungo sa Progresibong Pagbabago,” aims to cover not only jobs but also promote entrepreneurship through the business fairs.

For Davao Region, TNK Job and Business Fairs will be held at Gaisano Mall of Davao. Pre-registration and mini-job fair will be from April 26-30.

TNK is a partnership agreement between DOLE and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). Both have recently inked a blueprint for Decent Employment and Entrepreneurship for 2017-2022 last December. The agreement aims to achieve full employment by creating about 7.5 million jobs nationwide in main Key Employment Generating Sectors (KEGS) that include manufacturing, food processing, construction, tourism, information technology-business process management, transportation and logistics, and retail trade.

As of April 17, DOLE XI has already solicited 2,550 job vacancies for both local and overseas while 10 different livelihood associations have also been invited for the Livelihood Fair that will consist of a product bazaar and business talks from expert speakers.

Other than Labor Day, another TNK Job and Business Fairs will also be held on June 12 in line with the Independence Day Celebration.
