Davao to renew sisterhood with QC, San Juan, Marikina

Davao City officials will be signing sisterhood agreements with three local government units in Metro Manila this week.

Vice Bernard Al-ag represented Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio in the signing ceremony in San Juan, while Mayor Sara Duterte is scheduled to make an appearance in Quezon City and Marikina today.

Davao City will be renewing its partnerships with Quezon City and San Juan, while the city will ink a new partnership with Marikina City.

Duterte will be joined by the lawmakers who held a special session on Monday to make the trip yesterday morning. Sisterhood agreements allow local governments to establish partnerships and discuss best practices.

Davao City, for example, has become a template for some local governments that want to establish centralized monitoring systems such as the ones established by the Public Safety and Security Command Center (PSSCC), not to mention the implementation of a Central 911 system, the first in the Philippines.

Eventually, the 911 system would go national, with former Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte recently announcing that all emergency numbers in the Philippines adopt the 911 number.

Yesterday, they were scheduled to meet with the local government officials of San Juan and today, June 27, they will meet with officials of Marikina City and Quezon City.
