Davao Light hails top electricians

“THE ROLE of the electricians is very important. They make sure that the electrical current flows in a safe and reliable manner to outlets and electrical equipment. They are one of the reasons why we can all sleep soundly in our beds at night.” said Arturo Milan, Davao Light and Power Co.’s EVP and COO, in his speech during the Elektrisyan ng Bayan awarding ceremony last December 11 at the Pinnacle Hotel.

The Elektrisyan ng Bayan Award, which started in 2013, is an annual event of Davao Light in partnership with the Aboitiz Foundation to recognize electricians in the Davao Light franchise who have exhibited outstanding performance in their craft. This is also Davao Light’s way to encourage more electricians to perform according to the Electrical Code provisions and Electric Distribution Utility’s standards and policies.

This year, DAPREA’s Jimmy Cabrera was awarded as the Best Electrician for the year. He outstood 337 electricians competing for the top spot.

Next to him were Godofredo Beli of UEMD and Gregori Mahinay of DASEA for the 2nd and 3rd spots, respectively.

Rogelio Pitogo of UEMD got the 4th spot while Isabelo Acedo of DASEA bagged the 5th spot.

All of them received a cash prize and a new set of electrical tools.

“Our customer is always our top priority. By empowering the electricians, we can assure that they will provide the best service required of them by our customers.” said Arnold Arsolon, AVP for retail Service Group.

Davao Light will continue to provide programs that will enhance the skills of the electricians who are one of its frontliners. The company will make sure that the quality of service that it provides to its customers will also reflect to all of its contractors.
