This coming Valentine’s Day is something special for chef Bang who now has a special someone in her life to celebrate with plus a repeat recognition from Philippine Tatler Dining Guide as one of its Best Restaurants for the year 2018. Misto is set to make its Valentine’s Day treat a hearty culinary experience by highlighting its “Date Night” this February 14.

“Misto is up to the challenge of wooing diners celebrating Valentine’s Day with its exquisite culinary offerings consisting of a gastronomic three-course with wine pairing dinner plus Misto’s signature slow-cooked, juicy Angus roast beef; and a delicious array of beautifully decorated, delicious cakes and sweets that chef Bang is quite known for,” described the dapper Seda GM Kennedy V. Kapulong who didn’t forget to inform the guests from the Davao media that Misto is once again acknowledged as one of the best restaurants in the country by Philippine Tatler. The Seda event last January 31 was the first get together of Seda Abreeza with the Davao media representatives for the New Year 2018.

“For this special night, I came up with an Asian-inspired culinary treat starting the meal with a salad medley of crab stick, avocado, Japanese pickled ginger, baby herbs and greens drizzled in honey calamansi Dijon vinaigrette. This will be followed by a serving of shrimps in spiced coconut milk soup. For the main course, I chose the Japanese teriyaki glazed salmon with Malabar black pepper, bok choy and shiitake mushrooms,” described chef Bang who obviously hates being interviewed as to why she chose Asian fusion cuisine over the usual French cuisine for Valentine’s Day. The good chef is truly inspired by the array of cultural influences she has been exposed to in her travels to foreign countries particularly in Asia. The humble chef admits that she also seeks to respond to the Filipino taste with the adjustment in Asian flavour profiles that tickle the local palate.

“In my long years in the business, I never stopped myself from learning new things related to food and cooking techniques. I always look for voids to fill to challenge me and to inspire me with simple possibilities. I cook for my dining patrons. My mission as a chef is to simply satisfy their culinary cravings and wants. I put my heart into every dish that I prepare. When you work from the heart, it will reflect on the finished product. You have to give your best at all times,” revealed the good chef.

“Misto offers the best in wines from Chile and Italy to add more spirit to your love life this time,” said the friendly F&M Manager Jules Melencion as he introduced special wines in Misto’s list like Gran Verano Sauvignon Blanc, Morande Sonador Pinot Noir, Morande Sonador Merlot, among others.
