COURT FILES: Woman charged with alleged theft

THE OFFICE of the City Prosecutor found probable cause to indict a woman for alleged shoplifting last Sept. 18.

Prosecutor Rizalyn Y. Gonzals charged Joanna Ramos Estorba for theft pursuant to Sec. 6 of Rule 112 of the Revised Rules of Criminal Procedure.

The case stemmed from the complaint filed by Julie Doydoy Ramirez, an authorized representative of Gaisano Mall of Toril.

On Sept. 18, Arlene Duco, the lady watcher of the Gaisano Mall, allegedly saw the respondent took some items cosmetic items all worth P410 – one lipstick (P165), three bottles of nail polish (P95) and nipper (P150).

Duco then noticed the respondent trying to leave the store without paying. Duco asked for proof of purchase but the suspect failed to present any, leading to her arrest. Respondent is currently detained in the Toril Police Precinct.

Drug suspect charged

 A MAN will be facing trial after he was arrested for allegedly selling illegal drugs last Sept. 23.

The Office of the City prosecutor found probable cause to indict Ariel Bahinting for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Bahinting was arrested by elements of Calinan Police Precinct in their anti-illegal drugs operation at Purok 35, Lagazo Street, Calinan. He allegedly sold to an undercover police a one sachet of shabu.

Upon body search, they recovered three more sachets of shabu and one medium size sachet containing marijuana fruiting tops. The urine sample taken from him also tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine.

Bahinting is now under the custody of Calinan Police Precinct.
