Councilors to OK SB3 today

THE CITY council is expected to approve on third and final reading today a P136.4 million supplemental budget, a large portion of which would benefit thousands of city government employees.

Yesterday, the councilors conducted a special session for the second reading of Supplemental Budget 3 (SB3).

Based on SB3, each member of the Davao City Hall Employees’ Association (DACHEA) will receive P25,000 or a total of P67.25 million, which counts 49.3% of the entire budget.

This was in accordance to an announcement of the Department of Budget and Management (DBM)’s requirement on distributing amounts for the collective negotiation agreements for LGU.

The P62.65 million of the SB 3 will fund the miscellaneous personnel benefits fund, as promised by Mayor Sara Duterte.

Another 184 personnel from the City Economic Enterprises offices will receive P25,000 each, for a total of P4.6 million.

The amount comes from a shared general fund proper, alongside a P1.6 million budget for the Sangguniang Panlungsod and P1.6 million fund for the City Mayor’s Office’s Peace and Order Program.

The total amount for the general fund proper is P65,803,412.

Meanwhile, SB3 also provides P66.035 million under the development fund, which consists of non-infrastructure and infrastructure projects.

P4.6 million will go to the city’s economic enterprises, for the operation of markets, slaughterhouses, city overland transport terminal and cemeteries.
