Councilors reveal plans for 2019 mid-term polls

Councilors Avegayle Ortiz-Omalza and Jesus Joseph P. Zozobrado III expressed their intention to run for reelection in the 2019 mid-term polls.

“With regards to filing, yes,” Ortiz-Omalza said in yesterday’s Pulong-pulong ni Pulong in the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

“Maybe I’ll be filing instead of my mom. If there are no violent reactions, I’ll file,” she added.

Councilor Avegayle Ortiz-Omalza was one of the five first-timer councilors proclaimed by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) last May 10, 2016.

Meanwhile, Zozobrado said his job is not finished yet.

“Personally, I’d like to also run again so I could continue, especially since I still have many things left to do,” he said.

Zozobrado was one of the 24 councilors of the 18th City Council who took oath in 2016.

Like Councilor Omalza, he is also gearing for his second term as a city councilor.

Meanwhile, other City Councilors have yet to announce their plans to run for the 2019 Philippine Elections.
