Council wants list of Sara’s priorities

THE CITY council has formally asked the executive branch for a list of priority projects under Mayor Sara Duterte’s 10-point agenda.

In a memo dated Aug. 24, Vice Mayor Paolo Duterte asked city planner Ivan Cortez for a copy of the programs and projects.

“This is necessary in ensuring the general direction of the upcoming executive-legislative planning seminar/workshop so as to come up with policy directions and enabling legislations consistent with the 10-point agenda of the city mayor,” VM Duterte said.

City Council majority floor leader Bernard Al-ag said that Sara’s 10-point agenda will be the councilors’ guide “to support a program to make a concrete action in terms of legislation.”

This also presents an opportunity for the city council to submit its legislative agenda for the next three years.

VM Duterte said that the city council has not seen any problem working with the current administration lineup under Mayor Duterte’s executive branch.

He said that the programs are still in line with the priorities of both branches.

Mayor Duterte identified her 10-point agenda as follows: disaster risk reduction and mitigation, peace and order, transportation and traffic, tourism, agriculture, education, solid waste management, and infrastructure development.
