CLVR-Tagum bags Araw Duckpin crown

TEAM CLVR-Tagum City emerged as the overall champs at the close of the 2018 SBC-Araw ng Dabaw Open Duckpin Bowling tournament played at the Mega Dover Lanes and Recreation Center.

CLVR-Tagum City having Charlie Lastimoso, Tomr Mel Bojo, Razel Panonga and Dodong Villamor edged MAF Tractors and the Penguins which settled for second and third places, respectively. Davao City Water District paced themselves at fourth spot to complete the final four.

CLVR-Tagum City pocketed P12,000 and a trophy while the MAFS Tractors brought home P9,000 and a trophy and the Penquins with P7,000.

Team MAFS Tractors also made their presence felt winning the Highest Team Single honors with 636 pinfalls while the Penguins took the Highest Team Double with 1,236. Members of team Penquins, meanwhile, have Danny Arellano, John Staphan, Bong Villamor and Lalio Elumbaring.

Virgo Calida stole the limelight after winning the Masters Division crown after scoring 140 pinfalls in the finals on top of James Bardon (135), Rajan Astapan (120) and Che-Che Calida (111). He also brought home the Highest Individual Single (167) and Highest Individual Double (285).

The tournament was part of the 81st Araw ng Dabaw celebration presented by the Sunday Bowlers Club Davao City headed by organizer Emetrio Orteza and the City Sports Development Division Office.

Officers of the Sunday Bowlers Club Davao City are Milfred Chua (president), Expedieto Isturis (vice-president), Dr. Ma. Liza Berandoy (secretary), Demetrio Auza (treasurer) and Harry Cabigas (auditor). Board of Directors include Ma.
