City’s top drug dealer arrested

POLICE arrested a top drug dealer in the city in a buy-bust operation that netted close to P1 million worth of illegal drugs in Barangay Panacan, Bunawan district yesterday morning.

Chief Inspector Hamlet Lerios, the precinct commander of Sta. Ana police, said suspect Dexter Cuyno, 38, a resident of Juna Subdivision in Barangay Matina Crossing, Talomo District, ranks second in the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) drug watch list.

Lerios said Cuyno is considering as a high value target.

He said operatives seized suspected shabu weighing around 100 grams worth P900, 000 from Cuyno during the operation conducted along the national highway in Malagamot, Panacan at around 1:15 p.m. yesterday.

Cuyno was arrested after he handed over a sachet of shabu to a police poseur buyer in exchange of money.

Meanwhile, three persons were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Toril police officers at Purok 9, Libby Road, Bago Gallera, Talomo District at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Chief Inspector Ronald Lao, commander of Toril Police Precinct, identified the suspects as Kalpana Pastor Khatri, 34, single; Ronelo Abadillo Bersamin, 33, single; and RJ Roe Guballa Fernandez, all residents in the area.

Police initially arrested Fernandez outside the house of Khatri when he was spotted by police poseur buyer possessing two sachets of shabu.

Lao said Khatri was arrested after she handed over two sachets of shabu to a police undercover in exchange of money. Ronelo was inside Khatri’s house during the operation.

Seized from Khatri was one big and three small sachets of shabu worth P56,000 and drug paraphernalia.

The suspects, now under police detention, will be charged for violation of RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
