City, PMHA to promote mental health

The City Council passed on final reading during Tuesday’s regular session the ordinance that will authorize Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Mental Health Association to deliver programs for women and children with mental health problems.

The ordinance was authored by Councilor Mary Joselle Villafuerte, who chairs the committee on health.
The undertaking seeks to cater to children in the streets, victims of violence against women and children, and drug addiction, among other social problems.

The Philippine Mental Health Association-Davao City is tasked to undertake the psychological intervention to contribute to the holistic development of children, women, and the youth.
